The Notorious Conor McGregor was in a confident mood following his successful surgery on his broken leg. The Dubliner has promised to return “better than ever” after having surgery following a broken leg which he suffered in defeat by Dustin Poirier on Saturday.
The 32-year-old left the octagon on a stretcher and with his foot in a protective boot in Las Vegas with replays showed him rolling over on his ankle as he stepped backwards late in round one and the fight was stopped moments later.
McGregor posted a video to social media today in which he stated; “A clean break of the tibia and it was not to be, just out of the surgery room, everything went to plan, everything went perfect and I’m feeling tremendous. We’ve got six weeks on a crutch now and then we begin to build back.
“Dustin, you can celebrate that illegitimate win all you want but you’ve done nothing in there. That second round would have shown all.
“Onwards and upwards we go. We come back better than ever.”
While many question his future in the sport, it can’t be denied that he draws the fans. McGregor has been written off before, but we doubt we’ve seen the last of him in the Octagon.
