It’s that time of year again and we are in European action – welcoming Latvian Champions Riga FC to Oriel Park in the First Qualifying Round First Leg of the UEFA Champions League.

How can I follow it?

The match kicks off at the time of 7.45 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Oriel Park we will be carrying updates on official social media streams – @DundalkFC on twitter, Dundalk FC on facebook and dundalkfc_ on Instagram also. Post-match reaction will be available on all streams including our new soundcloud ( ) We will provide you with pre-match, in play and post-match updates from the evening’s action.

The match is also being broadcast live on RTE 2 Television with the programme beginning at 7.30 p.m.

How did we get on last week?

We had a good week last week with a 3-0 win over Waterford last Monday and we were held to a 2-2 draw away to Derry City on Friday night. Results leave us 8 points clear at the top of the league as we break for European action.

How did we get on in Europe last summer?

We progressed to the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. We defeated Levadia Tallinn of Estonia 3-1 over 2 legs however we fell 4-0 on aggregate to Cypriot outfit AEK Larnaca.

And the UEFA Champions League?

It has been 2 years since our last UEFA Champions League venture where we suffered defeat in the second qualifying round against Rosenborg – 3-2 on aggregate.


We have an all Slovakian referee team tomorrow with Peter Kráľovic being the man in the middle. Milan Štrbo and Miroslav Benko will be assisting him and Martin Dohál as fourth official.
